Dr. Linda S. Botello graduated from New England College of Optometry with a Doctorate of Optometry and St. Michaels College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. Dr. Linda S. Botello has over 21 years of experience. The practice specializes in dry eye, specialty contact lenses, such as multifocal, rigid gas permeable, hybrid, scleral sense and CRT-certified vision reshaping technology. Dr. Linda Botello's practice belongs to the following associations: MSO Massachusetts Society of Optometry, AOA American Optometric Society and Vision Source. She won Who's Who Optometrist of the year award in 2013.
She grew up in Stonington, CT where she worked summers in Mystic. She was an avid pianist and was involved with field hockey and various community groups such as church youth group, 4-H, public speaking, student council, honor society, music honor society and project oceanology. In high school, she received a citizenship award and trip to Washington D.C. and met some optometrists at the conference which taught her about different aspects of optometry. After this meeting, she became very interested and pursued optometry as a career.
Her favorite patient story has a very happy ending. A patient had stopped in saying he wasn't feeling so well. Looking at his eyes she was able to identify a problem and get him immediately to the emergency room. Turns out he had a 99% blocked cartotid artery which would have ended up with a major stroke. He was able to get immediate surgical treatment and made a full recovery.
She enjoys spending time with her children, playing piano, gardening and walking on the beach. She plays the piano and helps out with youth wrestling. She has also been a volunteer art history teacher in her children's school system. She is married and the proud parents of five wonderful boys. They are all active in sports and are all nationally ranked wrestlers.
